The State Ecological Inspection reported a serious violation of fishing regulations in the Bug Lagoon, resulting in damages of 1.3 million hryvnias.

On January 27, eco-inspectors, in collaboration with police officers from the Mykolaiv District Police Department and the Fish Protection Patrol, apprehended an offender on the Buh Liman near the village of Mala Koreniha in Mykolaiv Oblast.

The offender was engaged in illegal fishing activities using prohibited tools – specifically, 4 gill nets with a total length of 300 meters and a rowing boat "Progress 2" without registration numbers.

As a result of the illegal fishing, the following was caught:

roach – 678 individuals,

juvenile pike-perch – 76,

perch – 2.

These actions constitute a serious violation of the "Rules of Amateur Fishing" (Chapter IV, paragraph 1, subparagraph 1), approved by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on September 19, 2022, No. 700.

The estimated damage caused by the illegal catch amounts to 1,339,328 hryvnias.

A report on the administrative offense was filed against the offender under part 4 of Article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
