Valeriy Dubil, the chairman of the "Fatherland" party in Kyiv and the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health, as well as deputy to Yulia Tymoshenko, made this statement.
“The families of our Heroes cannot be divided by the date of their losses. Everyone who gave their life for Ukraine since 2014 did so in the fight for our independence, and their families deserve equal support. The current situation, where payments to families of those who died before February 24, 2022, range from 1.3 to 2 million UAH, while families of those who perished after this date receive 15 million UAH, is unjust. The Kyiv City Council is appealing to parliament to eliminate this discrimination and establish equal social guarantees for all families of our Defenders,” emphasized Valeriy Dubil.
He highlighted that the Kyiv City Council supports bills No. 9166-1 and No. 9166, which propose amendments to the Budget Code and legislative acts to address this issue at the state level. “This is a matter of justice and state responsibility. Therefore, our team insists that the Verkhovna Rada consider and adopt the necessary legislative changes as soon as possible to restore justice and adequately support the families of our Heroes,” added Valeriy Dubil.
Kyiv emphasizes that supporting the military and their families is one of its priorities. "My colleagues and I in parliament will continue to work on initiatives that will strengthen the social protection of Ukraine's Defenders and their families," he said.
