The renowned memorial museum of Grigory Skovoroda has been preserved and maintained.

As is well-known, on the night of May 7, 2022, a Russian missile struck the National Literary and Memorial Museum of Hryhorii Skovoroda in the Kharkiv region.
Знаменитый мемориальный музей Григория Сковороды сохранен и находится в консервации.

Since then, governmental bodies and international organizations have promised to at least preserve and protect the surviving portion of the world-renowned museum.

At the same time, the public has become more active and persistent in the effort to safeguard the national historical and cultural heritage. For instance, the Nikolai Tomenko Foundation "Native Country" initiated and conducted a modest educational and charitable campaign aimed at supporting the team of the National Museum. However, the main issue remained unresolved – the conservation of the surviving part of the historic building. Assistance came from the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUCA) led by Rector Alexey Dneprov. As Nikolai Tomenko explained, a Research Center for the Protection and Restoration of Historical and Cultural Heritage has been established at KNUCA, which trains restorers and provides professional and expert assistance to national reserves. This is why KNUCA, with the support of the charitable foundation "Stay with Ukraine – Kharkiv," provided patronage support and carried out the conservation of the memorial room of the Hryhoriy Skovoroda Museum.

Next in line is the final approval of the restoration project and the organization of restoration work involving both authorities and international organizations.

We hope that the charitable activities of the KNUCA team in Kharkiv region will expedite the implementation of the authorities' plans to restore this world-famous Skovoroda site.
