Ukrainian law enforcement officials have reported suspicions against the former head of the Appellate Economic Court in one of the regions. He allegedly demanded $1 million from a representative of a private company.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office on Telegram.

The SAP does not disclose the name of the individual involved, but according to sources from RBK-Ukraine, it is about Boris Plotnitsky, who previously headed the Western Appellate Economic Court.

This year, Plotnitsky submitted his resignation from his position. On August 15, the High Council of Justice approved his request.

He had been the head of the Western Appellate Economic Court since 2018.

Scheme in the Court

Recall that in early December, the SAP and NABU uncovered a judge and the former head of the Economic Court in one of the regions for extorting $1 million from a representative of a private company. For this amount, he promised to ensure favorable rulings in legal cases pending in one of the appellate economic courts.

According to sources from RBK-Ukraine, this refers to the judge of the Economic Court of Lviv region, Vasily Artimovich. On December 12, he resigned from his position as head of the Economic Court of Lviv region at his own request. He has already been placed under arrest.

Recently, the High Anti-Corruption Court also arrested another former head of the Economic Court of Lviv region, who may also have been involved in extorting a bribe.
