However, the actual number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) residing in the capital is approximately 520,000 individuals. In the Holosiivskyi district, since the onset of the full-scale invasion, 40,000 displaced persons have settled here, coming from occupied and frontline areas of Ukraine.
This was announced by Igor Halaychuk, a member of the Kyiv City Council from "Batkivshchyna."
“Most of the displaced individuals moved to Kyiv from areas where active combat is taking place. These are people who have been left with virtually nothing. It is our direct responsibility to support them. Therefore, today, just like for nearly three years of full-scale invasion, the door to my office is open,” he noted.
Together with volunteers, he congratulated the IDPs on the upcoming holidays, distributing sweet gifts for children and food packages along with wellness kits for adults.
“Together with my colleagues and at the initiative of the head of "Batkivshchyna" in Kyiv, Valerii Dubil, we are implementing humanitarian aid. Recently, we distributed pet food for domestic animals. Additionally, with the support of the Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Health of the Nation, Valerii Dubil, we are systematically visiting healthcare facilities with critical medical needs. But, of course, we also assist our defenders on the front lines,” he added.
