Five fires have been raging for a third night due to dry desert winds.

The Palisades fire between Santa Monica and Malibu on the western side of the city and the Eaton fire on the eastern side near Pasadena are considered the most destructive in Los Angeles history. The flames have engulfed over 13,750 hectares.

According to official reports, there are currently 10 confirmed fatalities. Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna stated that the number of victims may rise.

"It looks as if an atomic bomb was dropped on these areas," she added.

According to estimates from the private weather company AccuWeather, economic losses could reach up to $150 billion.

"We are already looking ahead to actively rebuild Los Angeles," said Mayor Karen Bass.

Recently, a massive fire broke out in Los Angeles, fueled by strong winds and dry weather. A state of emergency was declared in California on January 8. The flames also raged in an elite area popular among Hollywood stars.

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, was forced to cancel his visit to Italy due to the widespread wildfires.

President Vladimir Zelensky, for his part, expressed support for the States.
