In Transcarpathia, a man opened fire near a military enlistment office. Law enforcement has already apprehended the shooter.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing suspilne.media.
The man fired several shots into the air using a blank-firing pistol, and law enforcement detained him at the scene.
"As a result of the incident, no one was injured. The man was held accountable under Article 173 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses," noted the spokesperson.
According to the publication, the detained individual turned out to be a former military personnel who had left the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to health issues.
"The man fired because he was angry that he was not being mobilized," journalists reported.
Shooting incidents near the Military Enlistment Center in Ukraine are not new. For example, in May, the police conducted an investigation due to a conflict involving employees of the Military Enlistment Center and local residents in Transcarpathia. The enlistment office staff even had to fire shots into the air.
Furthermore, in October, a staff member of the Military Enlistment Center in Zaporizhzhia fired a shot into the air. This occurred due to a conflict with a local resident, as the man did not have military documents and caused a disturbance.
It is worth noting that in September, employees of the Military Enlistment Center were allowed to shoot to kill.
