Caught fish worth tens of thousands: The State Ecological Inspection has uncovered a large-scale violation.

At the Kaniv Reservoir, a violation of commercial fishing regulations has been recorded nearby. The amount of compensation for the damage caused is 134,946 hryvnias.

On November 11, 2024, specialists from the State Ecological Inspection of the Capital Region discovered a violation of the industrial fishing rules at the Kaniv Reservoir near the city of Pereyaslav.

The offender was fishing using prohibited fishing gear, specifically three nets.

The violator caught the following fish: common zander – 30 specimens, bream – 8 specimens, silver crucian carp – 4 specimens, common roach – 2 specimens, and flatfish – 3 specimens, totaling a weight of 23 kg.

A protocol for an administrative offense has been drawn up against the individual under part four of Article 85 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (KUAO), and the calculation of the amount of damage compensation has been made, totaling 134,946 UAH.

The confiscated nets have been handed over to the Inspection staff. Currently, materials are being prepared for submission to the court for consideration.
