People's Deputy Alexander Dubinsky lost his appeal regarding an administrative violation related to corruption. The court rejected Dubinsky's lawyer's complaint.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press service of the State Bureau of Investigations.
The message from the SBI did not mention the name of the individual involved, but the details of the case point to Alexander Dubinsky.
The Kyiv Court of Appeals agreed with the prosecutor's position and denied the appeal requests from the deputy and his defense attorney. As a result, the ruling of the first instance court was upheld, and Dubinsky was found guilty.
Recall that the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv had previously examined the administrative protocol against Dubinsky for a violation related to corruption.
According to the investigation, the deputy, while being a suspect in a criminal case, acted in a conflict of interest and unlawfully used his parliamentary powers. He sent parliamentary inquiries to the Ministry of Health and the SBI to obtain information necessary for pursuing his personal interests, which were in no way connected to his parliamentary activities.
The court found Alexander Dubinsky guilty of committing an administrative offense as stipulated in part 2 of article 172-7 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses. The court imposed an administrative penalty in the form of a fine.
The controversial deputy Alexander Dubinsky is involved in several criminal cases. One of them concerns official forgery. The investigation believes that Dubinsky left Ukraine under the pretense of accompanying his father for medical treatment.
The deputy is also implicated in a case regarding the organization of illegal border crossings.
Furthermore, Dubinsky has been charged with treason. Investigators have established that the controversial deputy was part of a criminal organization created by the Russian security service.
