The Russian army has carried out a large-scale shelling of Kherson to intimidate the locals. The Russians aim to instill panic among the people.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of Alexander Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
Prokudin noted that after the failed attempt by the occupiers to advance towards Kherson, they spread a series of falsehoods. The main one being that a mandatory evacuation had allegedly been announced in Kherson. However, this is not true.
"The region is under constant attacks from the enemy army, and the Russians are persistently trying to cross to the right bank. Please do not succumb to panic. The evacuation procedure remains unchanged for now," Prokudin stated.
He reminded that in the case of a mandatory evacuation, the decision will be made separately and will be duly communicated.
The head of the OVA reminded that to evacuate, one should contact the regional contact center at the numbers: 0 800 101 102 or 0 800 330 951. Currently, there are two ways to exit - by train or bus. Both are free of charge.
"Conditions for temporary accommodation have been created in most regions of the country. You will be welcomed in Volyn, Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Odesa, Transcarpathia, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, and other regions," Prokudin wrote.
Recall that this morning, the enemy heavily shelled Kherson with artillery. The Russians targeted residential buildings, as well as social and critical infrastructure.
It is known that there is one casualty and nine injured as a result of the shelling.
In the region, thousands of consumers were left without electricity due to enemy strikes. For more details on the consequences of the shelling, read in the material by RBK-Ukraine.
