The bodyguard of MP Nikolai Tishchenko has admitted guilt in the case of an attack on a soldier in Dnipro. He has reached an agreement with the investigation.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing a court decision.

According to the case materials, Tsubera acknowledged his involvement in the unlawful deprivation of liberty of an individual, committed by prior agreement (Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), as well as in torture (Part 2 of Article 127), and provided testimony regarding the circumstances of the attack on the serviceman.

The documents state that on Thursday, November 7, the bodyguard of the MP entered into an agreement with the prosecutor, in which he admitted his guilt and committed to cooperate with the investigation, specifically by testifying against all individuals involved in the crime, including MP Tishchenko.

The sentence stipulated five years of imprisonment. However, due to the agreement reached, the court decided to release the accused from actual serving of the sentence, assigning him a probation period of two years. Provided that Tsubera does not commit new criminal offenses during this time, he will avoid imprisonment.

Furthermore, the man is required to periodically report to the supervisory authority, notify of any changes in residence, work, or study, and not leave Ukraine without prior approval. Following the verdict, Tsubera was released from pre-trial detention, and he was also ordered to pay 6058 hryvnias to the state to cover the costs of judicial examinations.

What Preceded

In June 2024, a video emerged online showing unknown individuals in camouflage attacking a former soldier in Dnipro. It turned out that the victim was Dmitry Pavlov, a fighter from the Kraken unit.

One of the participants in the incident was Ukrainian MP Nikolai Tishchenko, which caused public outcry. As a result of the incident, a criminal case was opened against the MP.

Subsequently, Tishchenko was subjected to searches and announced as a suspect in unlawful deprivation of liberty. The same fate awaited another individual who participated in these events.

Yesterday, it became known that Tishchenko's preventive measure was extended. He remains under round-the-clock house arrest.
