A fire broke out near Kyiv on New Year's, resulting in casualties.

A fatal fire occurred near Kyiv on January 1. Two people died in the blaze in the village of Khotyanivka.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the State Emergency Service of Kyiv Region.

Today (January 1, - ed.), at 05:34, the operational dispatch service of the Vyshhorod district received a report of a fire in the village of Khotyanivka," the statement says.

Rescuers who arrived at the scene found that an outbuilding was engulfed in flames.

"During the firefighting, rescuers discovered the bodies of two victims. The ages and identities of the deceased are being established. The fire was extinguished at 06:48," the State Emergency Service noted.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.

As reported, on November 9, a fire occurred in a high-rise building in the Dnipro district of Kyiv. A woman was injured.

Additionally, on October 17, there was a fire in one of the high-rises in the center of Kyiv.
