After Russian attacks, the Ladiyzhyn Power Plant has halted operations as debris is cleared and equipment is dismantled.

Following the shelling by Russia on November 17, the Ladyzhynskaya Power Plant in the Vinnytsia region has temporarily halted operations. Efforts are currently underway to dismantle debris and assess damaged equipment.

Following the shelling by Russia on November 17, the Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plant in the Vinnytsia region temporarily ceased operations. Efforts are underway to dismantle debris and damaged equipment.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration.

According to the agency, specialists from "Ukrenergo" are working to mitigate the consequences of the shelling that occurred on November 17.

"The operation of the Ladyzhyn TPP has been halted, and the dismantling of debris and damaged equipment is currently taking place. The complete shutdown of the station has resulted in a lack of electricity supply in 430 settlements. As a result of prompt actions by JSC "Vinnytsiaoblenergo," the disconnected settlements have been energized through a backup scheme, affecting about 2, – said Alexander Peshchik, Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration.

Subsequently, the acting mayor of Ladyzhyn, Alexander Kolomiyets, reported that due to the consequences of Russian shelling, the city has switched to an alternative heating system. He mentioned that there are solid fuel and gas boiler houses operating in the city, as well as the boilers of the city hospital. In the event of possible power outages, all these sources are equipped with generators. Additionally, resilience points are operational within the community.

Massive Attack by the Russian Federation on Ukraine

Last weekend, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, targeting electricity generation and transmission facilities. Besides the damages in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Lviv, Odesa, and the Dnipropetrovsk region, there are casualties reported. The situation is particularly severe in Odesa following the Russian attack.

In response to the massive shelling across Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Russians fired 120 missiles and 90 drones.
