Russia launched 43 "Shahed" drones at Ukraine: here's how the air defense system performed.

On the night of December 30, Russians launched an attack on Ukraine with 43 strike drones. Ukrainian forces shot down half of them.

According to the Air Forces, from 7:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, to 9:00 AM on Monday, December 30, the enemy attacked with 43 "Shahed" type strike drones and other types of UAVs from Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

As a result of the combat operations conducted by the anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups, 21 "Shahed" strike drones and other types of imitation UAVs were shot down in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, Odesa, Donetsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Additionally, 22 enemy imitation UAVs were locally lost (without negative consequences).

During the air defense operations in the Kharkiv and Odesa regions, private homes were damaged due to the debris from the downed UAVs.

Consequences of the Attack on Odesa Region

According to Oleg Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Russian terrorists attacked the Odesa region with strike drones at night.

"Our air defense forces destroyed most of the enemy targets. As a result of falling debris in the Razdelnyansky district, windows, facades, and roofs of five residential buildings were damaged without subsequent fires," he wrote.

Preliminarily, there are no casualties or injuries. All relevant services are working at the site. Law enforcement is documenting the consequences of yet another crime by the Russians against the civilian population of the Odesa region.

Consequences of the Attack on Kharkiv Region

According to Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, during the attack, a hit was recorded in an open area near the road in the Chuhuiv district. Shortly thereafter, a hit was recorded in an outbuilding on the property in the same area. A fire broke out there, which was extinguished by rescuers.

In the Kharkiv district, debris from a "Shahed" was noted falling in an open area within a forest strip.

In the Kupiansk district, a 40-year-old man was injured as a result of a drone strike. He was hospitalized.

Shahed Attacks

The Russian army has begun to actively use "Shahed" type strike drones during airstrikes on Ukrainian territory. Recently, the Russians attacked Mykolaiv region with "Shaheds". The cities of Ochakiv and the Chornomorska community were targeted, resulting in injuries.

And on the night of December 28, the Russians also attacked Ukraine with 16 drones. The air defense shot down almost all of the UAVs.
