At the COP29 conference in Baku, the National Pavilion of Ukraine was officially inaugurated.

At the conclusion of a busy second day of the COP29 Climate Conference in Baku, Ukraine's Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, Svitlana Hrynchuk, officially inaugurated the national pavilion with a brief video message.

“Today we are here to once again make our presence known in the world. We are united in our purpose. We do not shy away from international commitments and continue to work alongside civilized nations towards a common goal: overcoming the climate crisis and achieving climate neutrality,” emphasized the Minister.

The official opening was attended by Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Victoria Kireeva, Ambassador of Ukraine to Azerbaijan Yuri Gusev, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Environmental Policy and Natural Resource Management Oleg Bondarenko, and Deputy Chair of the same committee Elena Krivoruchkina, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine – Minister of Justice of Ukraine Alexey Ryabchin, representatives of Ukrainian public organizations, and others.

The Ukrainian pavilion at COP29 is all about the strength of collective efforts – from the 8th point of the President of Ukraine’s Peace Formula to the plan for achieving climate neutrality, from the development of renewable energy to innovations in agriculture, from Ukrainian ecological startups that the world is already benefiting from to numerous examples of daily actions that protect the environment against all threats.

“Despite all the challenges, we stand together with those who want to make the world a better place. We are here to offer our developments to the world and to join important initiatives. We are here to once again demonstrate that Ukraine is a reliable and responsible partner. We are here to pave the way to a climate-neutral future, to the green recovery of Ukraine, to better standards and the latest technologies. Ukraine has much to offer the world, especially in overcoming the environmental impacts of wars. We need allies and like-minded individuals with whom we share common values,” emphasized Svitlana Grinchuk.

The Ukrainian pavilion was developed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany, as well as the International Climate Initiative (IKI), the UN Global Compact, UNDP, the “Architecture of Recovery and Reforms in Ukraine” (URA), DTEK, Kernel, NJSC “Naftogaz”, PJSC “Ukrhydroenergo”, Ukrnaft, EOPA, the Ukrainian Climate Office, SaveDnipro, UAnimals, “Ekodiya”, Breakthrough Energy, the European initiative Covenant of Mayors – East, the Ukrainian Climate Office (UCO), the European-Ukrainian Hub for Energy Transformation, the Institute for Climate Protection, Energy and Mobility, the International Renaissance Foundation, SPP Development, Relief, IPCert, the Federation of Employers of the Oil and Gas Industry (FRNHI), and Epicenter Agro. The pavilion concept was developed by the agency Gres Todorchuk.
