In Dnipro, cyber specialists and investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine detained an FSB agent who assisted Russian troops in targeting strikes on the city and was preparing to set military vehicles on fire in the region.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the press service of the SBU.
According to the case materials, the detainee initially collected coordinates of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units in the Dnipropetrovsk region and documented the consequences of Russian shelling. Later, after receiving a new assignment from his FSB handler, he began preparing to ignite military transport and facilities of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Under the direction of the Russian occupiers, the agent created a homemade incendiary device with remote control. It was planned that he would plant it under a military vehicle of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and activate it from a distance. Before the attack, the perpetrator tested the device near the railway tracks and reported back to his Russian handler.
If successful, the agent was to receive new "orders" for the destruction of military transport and relay cabinets.
The SBU uncovered the suspect in advance, documented his criminal actions, and detained him. It turned out that the detainee is a 48-year-old locksmith from a local enterprise who had an interest in chemistry and supported the war of the Russian Federation, leaving corresponding comments in Russian Telegram channels.
During searches, a mobile phone containing evidence of collaboration with the Russian Federation was seized from him. He has been charged with treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), committed under martial law.
The suspect is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with asset confiscation.
