A military serviceman was brutally beaten and robbed in Kharkiv. Law enforcement officials have apprehended two suspects.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press service of the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office.
The investigation revealed that on December 27, around 17:50, two men were near the underground passage located on Privokzalna Street in Kharkiv. They spotted a 45-year-old serviceman who had come home on leave.
One of the assailants punched the soldier in the face, and when he fell, both assailants continued to kick him. After inflicting bodily harm, the robbers took his belongings. They stole his phone, documents, cash, and other items the serviceman had on him, then fled the crime scene.
Law enforcement identified the perpetrators and arrested them. The two 38-year-old suspects have been charged with robbery involving violence, committed by a group of individuals in a premeditated agreement during a state of martial law (Part 4, Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The detainees face up to ten years in prison.

Recall that in December, police uncovered a gang in the Zhytomyr region that was extorting money from a serviceman.
Additionally, law enforcement uncovered a gang of extortionists from the Chernivtsi region. The gang was organized by a well-known figure in criminal circles, a 49-year-old resident of Chernivtsi.
