In Kyiv, as a result of a Russian airstrike using drones on the night of October 2, debris from enemy UAVs fell in two areas of the capital. A fire broke out in a residential high-rise building.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko.

"As a result of the strike by Russian Armed Forces' attack drones on Kyiv, debris was recorded falling in the Solomianskyi district of the city, within a residential area," the official stated.

According to preliminary data, several buildings sustained window damage due to this incident.

"No information about casualties or destruction has been received," the head of the KVA reported.

He added that operational reports regarding the consequences of the Russian airstrike on Kyiv are being updated.

Additionally, the official noted that air defense operations continue in Kyiv due to the threat posed by enemy UAVs to the capital.

Updated: Fire occurred in a building

As Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko mentioned in his Telegram, medical assistance was called to the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital.

"According to preliminary information, the fire in a residential building was caused by debris," the mayor of Kyiv reported.

Meanwhile, the KVA reported that at least five parked cars were also damaged.

Head of the KVA Popko stated that besides the Solomianskyi district, debris from enemy UAVs was also recorded falling in the Sviatoshynskyi district.

"According to preliminary information, which is being verified, a fire occurred in a 16-story residential building. Emergency services are on their way to the site," the official wrote on Telegram.

Later, the KVA added that there indeed
was a fire in a 16-story residential building in the Sviatoshynskyi district
- the fire was on the upper floors.

"Preliminary reports suggest possible partial destruction of the highest floors. Firefighting is underway over an area of 15 square meters. Evacuation of residents is in progress. Information about casualties is being clarified," the administration reported.

As Klitschko mentioned, one person was injured in the Sviatoshynskyi district of the capital - in the residential building where the fire occurred due to falling debris from Russian UAVs.

"Medical assistance was provided to the man on site," the mayor informed.

Drone attack on Kyiv

Earlier, it was reported that late last night, on November 1, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed about the launch of new groups of "Shaheds" by Russian invaders across Ukraine. They entered the country's airspace from the northern direction.

By around five in the morning on November 2, an air alert was declared in the capital. Approximately at the same time, an explosion was heard in the Kyiv area. Local authorities announced the operation of air defense in the city.

Furthermore, it was later reported that the enemy's air attack was also repelled in the Kyiv region, where hostile drones were detected.
