On January 5th, a fire occurred in the building of the district court in Mykolaiv. It was revealed that the fire was started by an 18-year-old young man.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv region.
According to the police, the district court on Samoylovych Street was on fire. An examination determined that the cause was intentional arson.

Using surveillance cameras, law enforcement identified the individuals involved in the arson. The 18-year-old was apprehended in a rented apartment.
"The police established that the 18-year-old Mykolaiv resident, acting on a commission, initially sought out the 'right' administrative building. He had previously acquired the necessary items - a hammer and flammable mixtures, and upon instruction, he set it on fire. The perpetrator recorded all his actions and subsequently sent a video report to the 'client' about the damage to the court and the receipt of monetary compensation," the police stated in their report.
The young man has been notified of suspicion under part 2 of Article 194 "Intentional destruction or damage to property" of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
It is worth recalling that earlier it was reported that a man attempted to set fire to flags erected in memory of fallen soldiers at Independence Square. The police have initiated an investigation.
As of yesterday, January 6th, the identity of the perpetrator has not yet been established.
Additionally, in November, it became known that a man set fire to a company in Britain that is linked to Ukraine. For this, he was promised a "reward".
