In the Polish town of Mielnik, an intoxicated soldier fired at a civilian vehicle. The man was promptly apprehended.
This is reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing Polish Radio Bialystok.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Kamil Dolenski, around 3:30 PM, the inebriated soldier from the 3rd Podhale Rifle Battalion in Rzeszów left the training camp with a pistol and fired shots at a civilian car. It is known that the man was under the influence of alcohol.
The publication states that other soldiers quickly reacted and detained the shooter at the scene.
Initially, there was information that this soldier served in the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF), however, a representative of the operation pointed out that this is not accurate. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.
The Military Police Department in Bialystok is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
Recall that earlier today, January 1, it became known that in New Orleans (USA) a car crashed into a crowd of people celebrating New Year. It is reported that 10 people died, and dozens more were injured. According to media reports, law enforcement shot the driver when he exited the vehicle.
Meanwhile, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell emphasized that the incident is considered a terrorist attack.
