On November 6, 2024, inspectors from the State Environmental Inspection of the Central District, together with inspectors from the patrol police's water management unit in the Cherkasy region, discovered two individuals near the village of Zhovnino who were using an inflatable boat to set nets in the waters of the state-designated landscape reserve "Sulinsky."
A total of 12 monofilament nets, measuring approximately 840 meters in length, were retrieved from the water, containing various species of fish. An investigative operational group was summoned to the scene to document and establish all the circumstances surrounding the violation. The watercraft, nets, fish, and the vehicle with a trailer were confiscated.
The estimated damage caused by the violation of environmental protection legislation amounts to over seven million hryvnias.
