In the village of Svyessa, located in the Shostka district of the Sumy region, emergency rescue operations have concluded following today’s Russian airstrike on the residential sector. The number of casualties remains unchanged.
This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine referencing the State Emergency Service (SES).
The emergency responders informed that the emergency and other urgent operations at the site of the impact in the Shostka district have been completed.
"Canine units from the SES were also involved in the search efforts. No individuals were found under the rubble," the rescuers stated.
Thus, the final data on the casualties remains as follows: 10 people sustained injuries due to the enemy airstrike, including two children.
The emergency responders reported that as a result of the Russian attack, 15 apartments in a five-story residential building were destroyed, along with one private house.
"The blast wave damaged approximately 900 windows in 4 five-story residential buildings and 7 private houses," the Service conveyed.
A total of 46 rescuers and 12 units of SES equipment were working at the incident site, the emergency responders added.
As previously reported, on the afternoon of January 4, Russian terrorists dropped a bomb on a high-rise building in the Sumy region. Initially, there were reports of five injured individuals.
Later, it became known that due to the enemy airstrike, the number of casualties doubled to 10 people.
