In the Zaporizhia region, homes are burning due to Russian shelling, and one person has been rescued, according to the regional military administration.

The Zaporizhzhia region came under enemy airstrikes on the evening of December 31, 2024. Due to the Russian attack, civilian infrastructure was damaged in one of the localities, and fires broke out in residential buildings.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.

"As a result of the enemy attack, several private houses are on fire in one of the localities of the region," the official stated late at night on January 1, 2025.

The head of the OVA added that emergency service workers rescued a woman.

"Emergency services are currently working on-site," Fedorov conveyed.

It should be noted that prior to this, explosions were heard in the Zaporizhzhia region yesterday evening around 22:20. Local authorities later informed that these were related to the operation of air defense systems due to the Russian attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia by "Shaheds."

By around half-past eleven at night, the head of the OVA reported that there was no information about casualties. At the same time, he urged residents of the region to stay in shelters, as the enemy air assault was ongoing.

Additionally, the air raid alert for the Zaporizhzhia region was lifted at 00:41.

Shelling of Zaporizhzhia

It is worth noting that the city of Zaporizhzhia, like other settlements in Ukraine near the front line, frequently faces Russian strikes. Occupiers use guided bombs, various types of missiles, and drones for shelling.

For example, on December 26, 2024, an explosion occurred in Zaporizhzhia due to a missile strike by the enemy.

Earlier, on December 20, Russian invaders attacked Zaporizhzhia with drones. That time, four people were injured due to the shelling. A fire broke out in the city following the enemy attack.

On December 10, Russian terrorists launched a missile strike on the center of Zaporizhzhia - the enemy hit a private hospital, resulting in the destruction of the medical facility and damage to nearby buildings. An emergency rescue operation continued in the city. According to the latest reports, 7 people were killed in the missile attack, and 22 were injured.

Also, we remind you that on the evening of December 6, Russian occupiers carried out an airstrike on Zaporizhzhia, resulting in a fire at a car service station, with casualties and injuries reported. Ten people lost their lives due to the shelling.
