In France, a man has taken the staff hostage at his father's restaurant. The police have cordoned off the building.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing BFM TV.
"A man armed with a knife has barricaded himself in his father's restaurant," law enforcement officials stated.
According to their information, the suspect is struggling with drug addiction.
The Paris fire brigade (BSPP), which dispatched three vehicles to the scene, reported that the man has "secured himself" inside and is "holding several staff members hostage."
According to police sources from BFMTV, at least three people are being held hostage, but around 1:00 PM, when the hostage situation began, there were no "customers or public" in the restaurant.
A mediator has been brought in for the "suspect's wish to end his life" operation. The police are aware of the criminal's identity.
Law enforcement has cordoned off the restaurant several dozen meters from the Paris ring road. Police headquarters confirmed that the intervention is taking place on Ernest Renan Street, which is closed to traffic.
It is worth noting that the events are unfolding at a restaurant in the town of Issy-les-Moulineaux, located near Paris.
Recall that last year, an armed man crashed a car into an airport terminal in the German city of Hamburg. He drove onto the runway, leading to the airport's operations being suspended.
The day after the incident, police reported that the man was still holding a child hostage and had made demands to the police.
