At the Kurakhiv Reservoir, where water is accumulating below the damaged Ternivka dam, no flooded houses have been reported so far. However, due to ongoing Russian shelling, it has not been possible to inspect the hydraulic structure yet.
This was stated by Roman Padun, the head of the Kurakhiv City Military Administration, as reported by RBK-Ukraine citing "Suspilne".
"We have not been able to go out and inspect this dam. Water continues to accumulate below the Ternivka dam. I have been in contact with colleagues. There is no critical situation; there are currently no flooded houses," he said.
According to the head of the administration, Russian troops have been trying to damage the dam for three months, but there is no threat of a complete water leak from the reservoir.
"It may be partially damaged, possibly one of the sluices. Because the enemy has been attempting to hit the dam with KABs for the last three months," Padun noted.
He also explained that the dam's design allows it to maintain a certain water level even when damaged.
"The dam is built in such a way that the entire water surface cannot overflow. There is a critical water level that can overflow, and there is a level that remains," he added.

On November 11, Russian invaders destroyed the Ternivka dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir. Depending on the degree of damage to the dam, there were reports of the risk of partial flooding of settlements located downstream of the Vovcha River.
