Ukrainian artillery units have already launched several strikes on homes where North Korean soldiers were likely present. This occurred in the Kursk region.
This information comes from RBK-Ukraine citing El Pais with reference to a representative of the Ukrainian State Border Service.
According to the publication, North Korean forces will increase the size of the Russian army in the Kursk region by 25%.
"According to estimates from the Ukrainian General Staff, Russia has deployed 40,000 servicemen for the defense of Kursk. North Korean soldiers will boost the Russian army by 25%, allowing more experienced Russian troops to continue their offensive on other fronts," the report states.
The media also reports, based on its sources, that half of the Russian fighters in Kursk are recruits. They have little experience compared to other military personnel. This is why they decided to reinforce them with North Korean troops.
"The Kremlin has reached an agreement with the North Korean regime for the DPRK forces to assist in the liberation of Kursk. Thus, Russia aims to avoid the collapse of part of its troops that are continuing the invasion into eastern Ukrainian territory. The potential involvement of North Korean troops in combat for the first time on the side of Russia strengthens Moscow's position in the war against Ukraine," El Pais reports.
Additionally, it is reported that the GUR published intercepted radio communications from the Russian army in Kursk, revealing that North Korean soldiers are being transported in civilian trucks to join the Russian 810th Marine Brigade, which is fighting on the front line in Kursk.
In early October, it became known that North Korea had sent its soldiers to Russia to support the war against Ukraine. In particular, they are being deployed in the Kursk direction.
We also reported that units of troops from North Korea are approaching the front line in Ukraine, but military analysts believe they do not belong to the elite units of Kim Jong Un's army.
