The deputy chief of the patrol police in the Odessa region was involved in a car accident: here's what we know.

Last Sunday, November 17, the deputy head of the patrol police department in the Odessa region was involved in a traffic accident. However, false information about the details of the incident is circulating in the media.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the official Telegram channel of the patrol police of Odessa region.

The published message states that on that day at the intersection of Mykola Lysenko and Oleksiy Vadaturskyi streets, there was an accident involving injured parties with cars Mitsubishi and Suzuki.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was traveling along Oleksiy Vadaturskyi street towards Yitzhak Rabin street and failed to yield to the Suzuki. As a result, a collision occurred.

The patrol police confirmed that the passenger of the Suzuki was indeed the deputy head of the department, who sustained injuries. Additionally, his wife, who was driving the vehicle, was also injured.

"It is important to note that the driver of the Mitsubishi was under the influence of alcohol. The driver of the Suzuki, according to medical assessments, was sober. The circumstances and details of this accident are also corroborated by witnesses who were near the scene," the message states.

In the Telegram channel of the patrol police, it was added that the accident was being investigated by an investigative-operational group. The investigation is still ongoing. Moreover, the police urged not to spread misleading information.

"Therefore, do not disseminate false information, and rely on verified official sources," the patrol police concluded.

We remind you that on November 3, Kyiv City Council member Serhiy Mamoyan was involved in a traffic accident in the Odessa region. As a result of the accident, he died at the scene. Police established that preliminary information indicated that the deputy lost control of his Toyota SUV on a circular section of the road.
