The Minister of Finance of Germany, Jörg Kukies, assured that support for Ukraine will remain unchanged in 2025, despite the fact that the country has yet to adopt a permanent budget. This was reported by tv, as conveyed by UNN.
Details
Jörg Kukies stated that Germany's bilateral support for Ukraine in 2025 is "secured and guaranteed in full" in the preliminary budget agreement.
According to the draft budget for 2025, German assistance to Ukraine has been reduced to 4 billion euros from approximately 8 billion euros in 2024.
However, disputes among the ruling parties and the eventual collapse of the federal coalition, leading to early elections in the Bundestag, have put this on hold.
Reminder
Germany is set to deliver a new military aid package to Ukraine worth 650 million euros by the end of the year, which will include IRIS-T air defense systems, Leopard 1A5 tanks, M84 tanks, and M-80 armored personnel carriers.
