The Czech Republic has not observed an increase in the number of newly arrived refugees from Ukraine.

The Czech Minister of the Interior announced a decrease in the number of applications for temporary protection from Ukrainians, dropping from 2,000 to 1,700 per week. The country is facilitating internal migration within Ukraine, encouraging movement from the eastern regions to the west.

In the Czech Republic, there has not been a significant increase in the arrival of refugees from Ukraine due to the winter season, contrary to expectations. This was stated by the head of the Czech Ministry of the Interior, Vít Rakušan, during a broadcast on Czech television. This information was reported by ct24 and cited by UNN.

According to him, the Czech Republic anticipated a rise in applications for temporary protection from Ukrainians in December and the second half of November due to the escalation of attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

At the same time, he assured that the ministry continues to strive to support internal migration within Ukraine.
