The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has uncovered a Ukrainian Railways official who was passing information to Russian intelligence agencies. The "link" turned out to be her husband, a militant fighting against Ukraine.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine, citing the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The individual in question is the chief accountant of one of the Ukrainian Railways branches in the Poltava region. According to the investigation, she lived in Horlivka in the Donetsk region until 2014, but moved to Poltava after the city was seized.

The official "leaked" information about the timing, routes, and specifics of military cargo convoys to the occupiers. The Russians were particularly interested in Defense Forces trains transporting heavy armored vehicles, artillery, and ammunition to the front lines.

She utilized official documentation and inquired with colleagues about shipments to the front.

The information she gathered was initially transmitted to the Russians through her husband, a militant from the Russian occupation forces who is fighting against Ukraine in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. Later, she was put in direct contact with a Russian handler.

The FSB began monitoring her in the spring of 2024 due to her husband, who remained in the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region and joined the invading forces.

The SBU has announced suspicions against the official under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Article 111 (state treason committed under martial law) and Parts 1 and 3 of Article 436-2 (justification, acknowledgment of the legality, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and glorification of its participants).

The woman is currently in custody without the right to bail. She faces a life sentence with property confiscation. The SBU also plans to announce suspicions against her husband.

Recall that at the end of last year, SBU dismantled a network of Russian intelligence agents. The traitors were preparing large-scale sabotage operations against Ukrainian Railways.

Additionally, law enforcement captured two groups of saboteurs who were setting fire to vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kyiv and Kharkiv.
