An agent of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) has been detained in Odessa for preparing hideouts for terrorist activities.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

Case Details

According to the case materials, the detainee is a 32-year-old woman from Odessa who was recruited by the enemy at the end of 2024. Under the direction of the GRU, she set fire to a relay cabinet of a signaling system and a transformer substation on a local railway line.

Later, she received a new assignment - to establish a hideout near the port with components for an improvised explosive device (IED). To accomplish this, she traveled to Dnipro, where she retrieved an explosive element concealed in a cigarette pack from a stash, based on the curator's coordinates.

"Upon her return to Odessa, the traitor attempted to place a component for the IED in a pre-prepared hideout near the port infrastructure. At this stage, SBU counterintelligence caught the agent 'in the act' and seized part of the explosive device from her," added the SBU.

It was also established that the next component of the hideout was to be a firearm, which the detainee was supposed to retrieve from another frontline city.

Consequences

The detainee has been informed of her suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - treason committed under martial law. Additionally, the issue of further qualification of the perpetrator's actions under part 2 of article 113 - sabotage committed under martial law, is being considered.

The suspect is currently in custody. She faces life imprisonment.

Recall that RBK-Ukraine reported that The SBU detained two women who were transmitting the coordinates of Ukrainian military personnel in the Donetsk region to the enemy.
