An intelligence network of Russian special services has been uncovered, which planned to bomb a veteran law enforcement officer in Dnipro. The suspects face up to 12 years in prison.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
To carry out the crime, the Russians recruited three agents:
All suspects were recruited via a Telegram channel focused on “quick earnings.”
"The investigation revealed that the Ukrainian veteran was to be eliminated using a homemade explosive device (HED), which the resident of Vinnytsia region was supposed to activate as the man approached his garage," the SBU reports.
The female suspect was caught "in the act" while she was preparing to detonate the explosives using a remote control.

Several Russian agents from Kharkiv were arrested afterward. Following instructions, they traveled to Nikopol, where they retrieved the explosives from a pre-prepared cache. They then went to Dnipro, left the explosives in a rented apartment, and fled back to Kharkiv to "lie low" while awaiting further instructions.
The counterintelligence of the SBU apprehended the female suspect "in the act" as she was preparing to activate the explosives with a remote control.
The nurse took the explosives and placed them near the designated garage in the yard where the veteran law enforcement officer resides.
The detained individuals were informed of their suspicion under part 2 of article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - a completed attempt to commit a terrorist act. They face up to 12 years in prison.
Recall that RBK-Ukraine reported on how, on February 14, an explosion occurred in the center of Mykolaiv near a catering establishment, resulting in the deaths of three military personnel. Later, law enforcement apprehended four suspects in the terrorist act.
