The city of Pokrovsk, located in the Donetsk region, will be completely closed off. However, approximately 12,000 people still remain there.

As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was stated by the head of the Pokrovsk city military administration, Sergey Dobryak, during a telethon.

According to him, Pokrovsk will be entirely blocked for entry and exit for defense purposes. He also advised residents to evacuate before the city is completely sealed off. Dobryak noted that the Defense Forces are currently securing the surrounding areas of the city.

It is also known that Russian occupiers are currently 6 kilometers away from one of the outskirts of Pokrovsk. Dobryak mentioned that there are still 11,900 residents in the city, including 55 children.

"We urge people to leave at least for the winter because it will be very difficult during the frost; there will be no heating season, but there will be heating points," he remarked.

He reminded that 60% of subscribers have electricity supply in the city; however, there has been no electricity for over a month in six settlements and the town of Rodynske within the Pokrovsk community. Currently, there is no possibility to restore it.
