In Kyiv, two more temperature records have been set, with temperatures soaring 10 degrees above normal.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Central Geophysical Observatory.

According to climatologists, on Wednesday, January 29, Kyiv recorded two more temperature records.

The minimum air temperature did not drop below 6.3 degrees Celsius, which is 4.2 degrees higher than the previous record for this date set in 1936 and 1979.

The average daily temperature reached its highest level ever recorded for this date at 7.1 degrees Celsius, exceeding the previous record from 2002 by 1.4 degrees and surpassing the climatic norm by 9.7 degrees.

"Based on long-term statistics, such a temperature corresponds to April 3," the report states.

Thus, over four days, seven maximum records were set in Kyiv. The first temperature records in 2025 were recorded on Sunday, January 26, after which they were noted daily.

According to the Central Geophysical Observatory, 2024 was the warmest year in the capital since observations began. The average annual temperature in 2024 in the capital was 11.4 degrees Celsius, which is 2.4 degrees above the climatic norm. It became the warmest year in the capital's recorded history.

A total of 52 temperature records were established in Kyiv in 2024, with the highest number occurring in April - 13 and July - 14.
