The number of casualties has risen in Zaporizhzhia following yesterday's Russian strike. As of the morning of December 11, six fatalities have been confirmed, while the previous evening, there were reports of four deaths.
This information is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing SES and the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.
"Currently, we know of 6 deceased civilians and 22 injured as a result of the strike in Zaporizhzhia," emergency services reported.
The SES also mentioned that emergency rescue operations are ongoing, with "all emergency services of the city" working at the site. Psychologists from the service are providing support to citizens as well.
The head of the Zaporizhzhia OVA clarified that four people are still trapped in the ruins of the building destroyed by a Russian missile in the Voznesensky district of the city.
Meanwhile, the National Police reported that there could be five individuals under the rubble.
"22 people sustained injuries of varying severity (12 women, 9 men, and a 5-year-old girl). Police, rescuers, volunteers, and relevant city services continue to work at the scene," the National Police stated.
Recall that on December 10, Russian troops launched a missile strike on the center of Zaporizhzhia. Local authorities reported that during the shelling, Russian terrorists hit a private hospital.
The OVA noted that the medical facility was destroyed, and adjacent buildings were also damaged.
As a result of the Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia, there were casualties, and reports indicated over twenty injured.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the Russian strike on the center of Zaporizhzhia. He emphasized that each such enemy attack proves the necessity of enhancing air defense capabilities in Ukraine.
Additionally, it was reported overnight that two women were rescued from the debris at the strike site in Zaporizhzhia. They had been trapped under the rubble for more than seven hours.
