Air raid alerts have been issued in Kyiv and several regions. What is the reason behind this?

In Kyiv, as well as in several regions of Ukraine, an air alert has been declared due to the threat of the enemy using ballistic weapons.

This is reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the air alert map.

As of 14:58, the air alert has been declared in:

• Kyiv;
• Kyiv region;
• Cherkasy region;
• Kirovohrad region;
• Dnipropetrovsk region;
• Zaporizhzhia region;
• Donetsk region;
• Kharkiv region;
• Poltava region;
• Sumy region;
• Chernihiv region.

Reason for the Air Alert

As warned by the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA), the air alert has been declared due to the threat of the enemy using ballistic weapons.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian terrorists have been regularly attacking Ukrainian infrastructure with various types of missiles, artillery, drones, and guided aerial bombs (GAB).

The enemy launches unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) against Ukraine almost every night. On the night of February 18, the enemy attacked with 176 Shahed-type drones and various types of imitation drones. The air defense managed to destroy 103 drones. Another 67 enemy UAVs were lost to radar.
