On the evening of February 17, the Russian Federation launched drones of the "Shahed" type over the territory of Ukraine. Against the backdrop of the drone attack, explosions were heard in Kyiv.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine with a link to the city's mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, and the Air Forces.
According to Klitschko, air defense forces are active in the northern part of the capital, and he advises Kyiv residents to stay in shelters.
"We urge everyone to urgently proceed to civil protection shelters," the Kyiv City State Administration announced.

Klitschko reported that debris from an enemy drone fell in the Svyatoshyn district.
"Preliminarily, there is a fire in the area of an industrial enterprise. Cars in the courtyard of a nearby residential building are also on fire," he wrote.

At approximately 23:06, the Kyiv City Military Administration announced the cancellation of the air alert in the capital.
According to the Air Forces, the Russian army launched strike drones from multiple directions.
