In the Odessa region, a worker from the military recruitment center devised a new scheme for profiting from summonses. He was selling them for $1,000 each.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Odessa police.

According to the police, the recruitment center employee demanded money from a conscript-aged man for processing a summons valid for six days. This allowed the holder to move freely within Ukraine during that period. The military man initially wanted $1,000 for the document, later increasing the price by another 2,000 hryvnias.

After the expiration of the summons, the perpetrator promised to issue similar summonses for the same fee.

Based on the collected evidence, the suspect was charged under part 3 of article 368 for extortion and for receiving unlawful benefits as a public official.

This crime could result in a prison sentence of up to 10 years, along with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in specific activities for up to three years, as well as confiscation of property.
