On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 10, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Yenakiieve, located in the Donetsk region. An ammunition depot exploded there.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing "Donbas News."
According to the publication, it is likely that an ammunition storage facility was hit in Yenakiieve.
It is also known that the occupying authorities have already announced an emergency evacuation for residents near the impact site. Details are still unclear, but footage from the scene has already surfaced online.
The area where the explosions are occurring has been cordoned off, and locals are advised to stay in shelters or avoid windows.
It is worth noting that Yenakiieve has been occupied by Russian forces since April 2014, at the beginning of the war in Donbas. Since the occupation, the city has been under the control of the so-called "DPR," leading to the degradation of infrastructure and the economy.
Currently, the occupying authorities are using the city to support their military campaign, while local residents frequently face repression, forced mobilization, and worsening living conditions.
An interesting fact is that Yenakiieve is the hometown of the fugitive former president Viktor Yanukovych.
Previously, we reported that the Russian army continues to expend a large number of troops to achieve their previously set goal of reaching the border of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
For instance, at the end of October, the Russian army struck the Pokrovsk district several times throughout the day. At that time, three people were killed, and two were injured.
