The situation at the border of the Sumy region with Russia remains controlled. No information has been confirmed regarding a breach by Russian forces.
This was reported by RBK-Ukraine with a link to the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
Today, information began circulating online claiming that the Russian army allegedly breached the Ukrainian border in the Sumy region.
However, the Sumy Regional Military Administration states that reports of a border breach by Russians in the Sumy region are false. The messages circulated by several media outlets are hostile disinformation that does not reflect reality.
"Currently, there is no data from the military regarding any changes in the situation at the border; the situation is controlled," said the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Vladimir Artyukh.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue active operations in border areas, particularly in Russia's Kursk region. The operation aims to weaken the enemy's logistical capabilities, destroy military infrastructure, and compel Russia to redirect its resources from the front to defend its own territories.
It is also worth noting that since the beginning of summer, Russia has intensified its shelling of the Sumy region. Consequently, a forced evacuation of local residents has been decided in several populated areas.
In particular, according to Interior Minister Igor Klymenko, 183 populated areas in the Sumy region are prioritized for evacuation.
At the same time, Artyukh previously stated that due to the Kursk operation, the number of shelling from Russia has increased in those areas, affecting Ukrainian fighters.
