In Sudan, a military aircraft crashed near residential buildings, resulting in casualties.

A military aircraft crashed in Sudan during takeoff from the Wadi Sayyidna airbase, located west of the capital, Khartoum. Reports indicate that dozens have died, including both military personnel and civilians.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Al Jazeera.

According to media sources, the crash of the Antonov aircraft likely occurred due to technical issues. There were also reports that the plane collided with a residential building.

At least 19 fatalities have been reported, including Major General Bahr Ahmed, a senior commander in Khartoum. The injured have been transported to a hospital, and firefighters managed to contain the fire at the crash site.

"One of our aircraft crashed during takeoff from Wadi Sayyidna airport on the evening of February 25," stated the Sudanese Armed Forces, acknowledging that there are casualties among civilians as well.

No further details regarding the type of aircraft, the number of victims, or the cause of the crash have been released yet.

Air Crash in Washington

Recall that on January 29, a passenger Bombardier CRJ700 collided in the air with a military UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter in Washington. Debris from the aircraft fell into the Potomac River.

The disaster resulted in 67 fatalities - 60 passengers and 4 crew members of the civilian aircraft, as well as three military personnel on board the helicopter.
