A passenger plane caught fire in South Korea, with over 170 people on board.

A passenger airplane belonging to Air Busan caught fire at Gimhae International Airport in South Korea. The blaze erupted just before its scheduled departure to Hong Kong, with 176 people on board.

At Gimhae International Airport in South Korea, a passenger aircraft from Air Busan caught fire. The blaze ignited just before the flight's departure to Hong Kong, with 176 individuals on board.

This information was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Yonhap News.

According to the publication, the passenger plane caught fire at the international airport in the southeastern city of Busan.

The fire department stated that the Air Busan aircraft, which was en route to Hong Kong from Gimhae International Airport, ignited in the tail section shortly before takeoff around 22:26 (local time) on Tuesday.

It is known that all 169 passengers and seven crew members on board were evacuated via an inflatable slide. During the evacuation, three individuals sustained injuries.

It has been noted that although the fire started in the tail of the aircraft, the flames also spread to the fuselage.

On December 29, 2024, a Jeju Air plane operating a flight from Bangkok to Muan sent an SOS signal during landing. The aircraft landed with its landing gear retracted, ran half the length of the runway, went off the edge, collided with an embankment and a radar, exploded, and caught fire.

In the disaster, 179 passengers and crew members out of 181 on board perished. Two individuals survived, who were located in the tail section of the aircraft.
