A man who was injured during the shelling of Zaporizhzhia on January 8 near an industrial facility has died in the hospital. Consequently, the death toll has risen to 14 individuals.

As reported by RBK-Ukraine, this was revealed by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov, during a telethon.

"Unfortunately, after the shelling that occurred in early January near the industrial facility, one person died in the hospital yesterday. Doctors fought for his life for almost two weeks, so the number of victims has increased," Fedorov stated.

According to him, efforts to address the consequences of the shelling in Zaporizhzhia over the past month are still ongoing. It is also known that 60 people remain in hospitals in the Zaporizhzhia region and Zaporizhzhia city. Fedorov noted that since September 20, the number of fatalities from shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region has increased.

"The number of fatalities has significantly risen after the enemy conducted massive shelling of the Zaporizhzhia region since September 20. Since that date, 69 people have been killed due to enemy bombardments," Fedorov explained.

Shelling of Zaporizhzhia on January 8

Recall that on Wednesday, January 8, the Russian army carried out an airstrike on Zaporizhzhia. At that time, two explosions were heard in the city.

Interestingly, Russia almost immediately reacted to its own attack with KABs on Zaporizhzhia on January 8. Kremlin propagandists blamed the "Air Defense Forces of Ukraine" for everything.

Additionally, Fedorov commented to RBK-Ukraine on why there are so many casualties in the city. According to him, this happened at a time when locals were preparing to go home after finishing their work shifts.
