Ukrainian law enforcement uncovered a land corruption scheme in Kyiv at the beginning of February. As part of the investigation, they monitored former and current officials.

This was reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine on Telegram.

NABU released recordings of the individuals involved in the case, who are suspected of illegally acquiring land valued at 11.6 million hryvnias.

In particular, the video features the scheme's organizer, a member of the Kyiv City Council, who is also part of the commission on land relations, as well as the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The Scheme in the Kyiv City Council

Recall that at the beginning of February, Ukrainian law enforcement announced they had exposed a corruption scheme in the Kyiv City Council. This scheme involved both current and former city council deputies.

According to sources from RBK-Ukraine, the individuals implicated included the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Petr Olenych, city council deputies, specifically the head of the land relations commission, Mykhailo Terentiev, and commission member Elena Marchenko. The organizer was former city council deputy Denys Komarnytskyi.

They allegedly acquired land plots in Kyiv through illegal means.

The court has already chosen a preventive measure for Petr Olenych, which involves detention with the option to post bail set at 15 million hryvnias. Meanwhile, Denys Komarnytskyi has been placed on the wanted list.
